This makes Google’s algorithm much stronger and brings the ever-increasing repository of content in mobile apps under the coverage of its search engine algorithm.

However, in a recent Hangouts session, Google's webmaster trends analyst, John Mueller has opined that link building can do more harm than good, and hence should in general be avoided.
