Facebook to Reintroduce Posts Search Facility for Users

One important update that doing the rounds in social media blog and news these days is that Facebook is reintroducing the search facility for the posts for its users. Those who evidently follow social media blog and news would know that the previous post search facility that Facebook used to offer was withdrawn once the new graph search capabilities were introduced in January 2013. Since then users have been demanding to SEO news and articles sites that this capability should be restored to the Facebook network. Facebook on the other hand had promised earlier that the world reintroduce it.

Going by social media blog and news, it seems like Facebook has already introduced this facility, but only for the users in USA. When this will be rolled out to the other parts of the world remains to be seen.

Content you can search for:

Social media blogs and news have reported that the search facility comes with the rider: you can only search for posts from yourself, your friends, and those you follow. If you don’t know someone, you cannot search his posts. Hence, these posts will remain beyond your search boundaries.

At one point of time Facebook was contemplating rolling out a search facility for public posts as well. However, later the decided against it and introduced this limited search facility. In fact, prior to introducing the graph search, Facebook did have a post search facility. This was withdrawn subsequently once graph search was introduced in 2013.

The important point to note, as per SEO news and articles, is that the graph search will continue to co-exist with the posts search facility. So you can search for friends, and friends of friends using the graph search, and search the posts using post search.

Facebook has said that they are putting a lot of thought into this search capability. There will ensure that posts which are most relevant for the users will show up on the top, and the rest will follow.

We hope that this search facility will be robust enough to fulfil the long-standing demands of the users.
